Child, Adolescent & Family Therapist

For over 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside children, youth, and families as they navigate life’s challenges and celebrate their strengths. Throughout my work, I’ve found that a calm, clear approach can create a space where meaningful healing happens. I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work and also teach as a Casual Faculty Member at Bow Valley College, where I enjoy sharing my passion for social work with students.

My approach draws from a variety of therapeutic methods, guided both by what the evidence shows to be effective and by what feels right for each individual I work with. I’m deeply committed to providing compassionate, trauma-aware, and culturally informed support to children, youth, parents, co-parents, families, and individuals alike. My clinical focus is on helping individuals manage emotions, navigate behavioral challenges, and strengthen family systems. Whether it’s helping a child through worries and anxieties, guiding teens as they explore their identity, or supporting parents through conflict and transitions, I aim to create a safe space where every voice is heard and healing can take place. After all, we’re all naturally built to heal, even if sometimes we get a little stuck or veer off track.

On a personal note, I’ve parented three now-adult children, so I understand firsthand how rare it feels to truly thrive as a parent. Parenting often comes with uncertainty, moments of self-doubt, and the challenge of juggling so much with limited energy. When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me out trout fishing on one of Alberta’s beautiful blue-ribbon rivers or exploring the mountains and great outdoors…activities that help me recharge and find balance.

“Without relationship, there is no influence.” -Unknown

I first came across this quote taped above my supervisor’s desk during my Master of Social Work practicum, and it has guided my practice ever since. I approach every client relationship with curiosity, acceptance, and non-judgment. My belief in your innate capacity for healing grounds the work we do together — I am here to walk alongside you as a witness and guide through life’s challenges.

For the past six years, I have focused on supporting children, adolescents, and their families through a range of mental health concerns, including attachment disruptions, peer difficulties, family conflict, grief after significant loss, anticipatory grief following a life-limiting diagnosis, and major life transitions. I understand the family as a system — when one member is affected, the whole family feels it. Together, we’ll explore your concerns and create a support plan tailored to your family’s unique needs.

In my work with children, I use a blend of directive and non-directive therapeutic play and expressive arts techniques. Play is the natural language of children — it’s how they process experiences, build skills, and relate to others. When guided by a trained therapeutic play practitioner, this approach empowers children to navigate challenges, develop coping strategies, and reach developmental milestones, all without relying on adult-level language or reasoning. My goal is to create a therapeutic space where your child feels safe, heard, and free to express themselves.

I offer individual sessions for children (ages 7+), adolescents, and adults, as well as parent coaching sessions to equip you with tools and strategies to support your child’s emotional well-being. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to discuss your questions, concerns, or hopes for change. I look forward to accompanying you on your journey.

Client Focus - Children 7+ - Adolescents - Adults

Clinical Issues - Grief & Loss, including anticipatory grief and disenfranchised grief - Living with life-limiting illness - Anxiety - Behavioral difficulties - Attachment - Trauma - Self-esteem

Treatment Approaches - Therapeutic Play - Humanistic - Client centered - Narrative Therapy - Family Systems - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - Accelerated Resolution Therapy - Parent coaching

Child & Adolescent Occupational Therapist

As an Occupational Therapist with over 20 years of experience specializing in pediatrics, I am dedicated to supporting children and young adults with challenges related to sensory processing, emotional regulation, interoception (awareness of internal body cues), feeding, and handwriting. My extensive background allows me to offer compassionate, individualized therapy tailored to each person’s unique needs.

I use a neuroaffirming approach that respects and values the diverse ways our brains process and respond to sensory input. My goal is to collaborate with clients and their families to develop creative, practical solutions that empower them to overcome obstacles and reach their fullest potential.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of individuals, helping them navigate daily challenges and build the skills they need to thrive. I am passionate about creating a supportive, positive environment where clients can grow in confidence, develop important life skills, and enhance their overall well-being.

Whether I’m engaging children in play-based activities that promote sensory integration, supporting emotional regulation and interoception, or helping with feeding and writing difficulties, I aim to make therapy both meaningful and enjoyable. I am committed to lifelong learning and evidence-based practice, ensuring every client receives the highest quality care.

In addition to working with children, I also support young adults navigating similar challenges, as well as professionals and caregivers who work with adults. While my direct clinical work is focused on younger populations, I am committed to sharing knowledge, strategies, and support that can benefit individuals across the lifespan.

I am also certified as a Sex Therapy Informed Clinician, and support clients in exploring intimacy, identity, and sexual wellness with compassion and care.

Child, Adolescent & Family Therapist

I’m a mental health professional with over 20 years of experience, having worked across both acute and community settings and a strong advocate for accessible, quality mental health care in rural communities. My approach is grounded in the belief that therapy isn’t about fixing but about understanding…working together with individuals and families to make sense of experiences, strengthen coping, and foster resilience through life’s challenges.

I believe in the importance of working with the whole family system, recognizing that children and youth thrive best when their supports are engaged and aligned. I collaborate closely with family members, schools, and other community supports to ensure consistent strategies and understanding across all environments…especially when supporting children and youth with ADHD, ASD, FASD, and learning difficulties.

While I have a deep passion for working with children and youth with ADHD and ASD, my practice also extends to those navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, school refusal, learning difficulties, at-risk behaviours (including at-risk sexual behaviours), and family relationship challenges. I also support clients in developing learning strategies, building self-esteem, and finding the confidence to manage life’s demands more effectively.

I have a particular passion and expertise in supporting women and girls with ADHD, offering education, awareness, and practical strategies that recognize both their challenges and their strengths. I tailor my work to help them understand their unique patterns, build self-awareness, and develop approaches that celebrate their capabilities rather than focusing solely on their struggles. My approach is thoughtful, direct, and compassionate, creating a therapeutic space where honesty, collaboration, and self-discovery are central to the healing process.

I consider myself a lifelong learner who values curiosity and reflection as essential parts of ethical, effective practice. I believe growth never stops, for both myself and the people I support, and I see feedback as a gift that keeps me grounded, authentic, and evolving as a therapist and leader.

Outside of work, I’m a wife, mom, and proud furry mom. I find inspiration and balance through travel, new experiences, and creativity. With an interior design diploma, I also love to bring my eye for detail and aesthetics into my personal life…often found buried in fabric samples, reading a good book, or listening to a podcast.

Adolescent, Adult, Couples & Family Therapist

I’m a Registered Social Worker with over 20 years of experience in the field of mental health. I hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work, along with an undergraduate degree in Psychology. It’s a true privilege to walk alongside individuals and families on their journeys, and I work hard to build trusting, collaborative relationships rooted in compassion, respect, and authenticity.

My practice includes working with adolescents, adults, families, and couples. I recognize that relationships, whether within a family, partnership, or support system, play a powerful role in emotional well-being. I offer a safe and supportive space where each person feels heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful change.

I have extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient high-acuity mental health settings, as well as in general mental health care. This has allowed me to support individuals through a wide range of challenges, from acute psychiatric crises to more chronic emotional and relational difficulties. I also bring my clinical experience into the classroom, teaching at the Master of Social Work level at the University of Calgary, where I help shape the next generation of social workers with a strong emphasis on ethics, clinical skill, and cultural humility.

In my work with children and youth, I strongly believe in early intervention and the power of family involvement to foster resilience and positive development. By working together, we can strengthen communication, deepen connection, and support every member of the family in navigating life’s challenges.

I also have a strong background in conducting psychosocial assessments and strive to look beyond the surface to understand the full picture, including a person’s environment, history, strengths, and goals. I aim to provide practical, personalized strategies that create meaningful improvements in daily life, whether you’re dealing with academic struggles, attention issues, mood concerns, or relational stress.

Teen (14+) & Adult Therapist

I believe that therapy is less about fixing what’s broken and more about getting to the heart of what truly matters. I see the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for meaningful change…it’s what helps clients feel safe, stay engaged, and get the most out of their time in therapy.

My approach is integrative, meaning I draw from a variety of therapeutic models and tailor each session to the unique needs of the individual. This allows for a flexible, holistic, and personalized experience, one that values your story, your strengths, and your goals.

With over 20 years of experience working with youth, young adults, and adults, I’ve supported clients through a wide range of challenges, including substance use and addiction, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and other mental health concerns. I bring both professional expertise and personal insight to my work, and I aim to create a space that feels grounded, supportive, and real.

In addition to talk therapy, I often incorporate experiential exercises, especially for those who process best through action, creativity, or movement. These intentional activities help build emotional insight and resilience and can be particularly helpful for clients who find it difficult to stay seated or fully engaged for a traditional 60-minute session.

I value working alongside clients to co-create a plan that builds on existing strengths, enhances coping skills, strengthens connection, and supports greater balance in life. I offer both in-person and virtual sessions and invite you to connect for a free 15-minute phone consultation if you have any questions before booking your first appointment.

I bring experience supporting individuals living with trauma, personality disorders, anxiety, depression, addiction, and emotion dysregulation.
